This autumn's packed live programme offers a number of new productions by pioneering artists, performers and composers.

Showing contemporary art is also about making room for the works of art that cannot be installed or mounted on a wall. MUNCH does this with a programme filled with music, performance and conversation.

Our music program celebrates and explores sound in all its forms and variations. Concerts will range from chamber music to jazz to experimental contemporary music, with a focus on new compositions that break the boundaries of familiar genres.

A new focus on performance, with commissions from local and international artists working at the intersection of contemporary art, dance and music.

The film programme is connected to the museum’s ongoing exhibitions, and includes documentaries, art films, and other specially selected screenings.

Conversations, panel debates, and lectures by artists and social critics, exploring and expanding on themes and perspectives in our museum program.

MUNCH Live is a new programme dedicated to multidisciplinary practices within different art forms. We offer you everything from engaging conversations and debates, to playful chamber music, cutting edge performance and jazz, exciting festivals and film programmes.

Continuing our legacy from Tøyen in the 1960s, we’re bringing with us an experimental line-up of artists to our new location in Bjørvika. Taking place in purpose-built concert spaces with superb acoustics, we offer an independently curated programme developed in collaboration with Norwegian and international partners, as well as events complementing our exhibitions. MUNCH wants to be a vibrant and innovative house, which expands the understanding of what a museum is.
