Certain artists have been on Oslo Jazz Festival's wishlist for many years. One of these is the American composer and saxophonist Anthony Braxton. On the penultimate day of the festival, the Oslo jazz audience can finally experience this musical revolutionary in MUNCH’s Festhallen.

At this year's festival, Anthony Braxton brings the Diamond Curtain Wall Trio project, featuring Portuguese Susanna Santos Silva (trumpet) and American Adam Matlock (accordion).

Anthony Braxton is recognised as one of the most important musicians, educators and creative thinkers of the past 50 years. Due to the complexity of his compositions and his inspirations (he has even written compositions for orchestras on different planets), his radical work has been compared to composers such as Stockhausen as well as other icons of free jazz.

Braxton made the compositions for Diamond Curtain Wall Trio with the audio programming language SuperCollider, a free and open source software. SuperCollider becomes another improviser in dialogue with the members of the group, creating a new form of collective improvisation.
