Mette Henriette is a Sámi-Norwegian saxophonist, composer, improviser and bandleader. Her music spans free jazz to folk-inspired contemporary music, and her diverse approach represents the exciting eclecticism of the new Norwegian jazz and new music scene.

After a decade of touring internationally and composing commissions for Oslo Philharmonic, Arctic Philharmonic, Cikada and more, Mette Henriette is a sought after performer who loves to challenge the traditional concert format. In 2015 she became the first artist to release a double debut album on the renowned record label ECM. The album featured music for her trio and large ensemble consisting of jazz, classical and tango musicians.

At this appearance she will appear with a trio including Ayumi Tanaka (piano) and Tanja Orning (cello). The concert will include music from her forthcoming second album, Drifting.

This concert is a part of Jazz at MUNCH, presented in partnership with Oslo Jazz Festival.
