Koka Nikoladze is well established as a contemporary composer, but he has also gained an international reputation working with technology and invented instruments. Tine Thing Helseth has also enjoyed global success as a trumpet player with a natural and honest expressive style. Expect gorgeous trumpet sounds and urban romanticism as these two unite for the edition of the PÅ! series.

Echo Chambers is composed for trumpets and electronics with expanded technology, including Nikoladze’s signature bowed trumpet. Tonight you can also hear a new version of the piece Nikoladze wrote for the opening of MUNCH in 2021.

PÅ! is all about the sounds of today. It’s a regular series of concerts and happenings highlighting the work of contemporary composers and performers. The series features the best musicians and ensembles playing music from a mix of well known composers and newcomers.

Produced in collaboration with Therese Birkelund Ulvo and UR Productions. Supported by Komponistforeningen and Norsk Kulturråd.
