  • How do I buy a membership?

  • What do I receive after buying a personal membership?

    If you buy a membership for yourself, you will receive:

    • An order confirmation showing the amount paid and product information.
    • If you opted to create a payment profile, confirmation that you have created an account with our online shop.
    • A welcome e-mail with your personal membership details and account log in
  • I did not receive any emails after I purchased/registered my membership. Where can I find them?

    You should have received an automated email to your registered email address. Please check your spam and trash folders. The outgoing address for emails from Munchmuseet is info@munchmuseet.no. 

  • How can I change the information that’s registered to account?

    You can access your account to manage and change your details here

  • What will I receive if I’ve bought two memberships: one for myself and a gift membership?

    If you buy more than one type of membership (a membership for yourself plus a gift membership), you will receive:

    • An order confirmation showing the amount paid and product information
    • If you opted to create a payment profile, confirmation that you have created an account with our online shop
    • A welcome e-mail with your personal membership details and account log-in details; and
    • A separate email with a link to a gift certificate PDF (or to several gift certificate PDFs if you have bought more than one).

    Do not activate the gift membership on behalf of the receipient – our system requires the recipient to activate their own membership.

  • How do I buy a gift membership?

  • Do I have to state the name of the recipient?

    Gift memberships are not linked to a specific name until the recipient registers with us, so you can decide on the recipient after you make the purchase. The recipient will then create their own membership account by registering their details.

  • What do I receive after buying a gift membership?

    If you buy a gift membership, you will receive:

    • An order confirmation showing the amount paid and product information
    • If you opted to create a payment profile, confirmation that you have created an account with our online shop
    • A separate email containing a link to a gift certificate in PDF format (this is the gift certificate that you give to the recipient).
  • What is a gift certificate PDF and what do I do with it?

    The gift certificate PDF is for you to give to the recipient of your gift. The recipient uses the code on the gift certificate to activate their own membership.            

    After you purchase a gift membership, you will receive an email containing a link to the gift certificate PDF.

    You can either click on the link to print out a hard copy of the gift certificate PDF or you can send the gift certificate PDF directly to the recipient by copying and pasting the link into an email.

    There is no name on the gift certificate PDF, so you can decide on the recipient of your gift after purchasing it. The recipient of the gift uses the code on the gift certificate and enters their own details in order to create an account.

  • I haven’t received the purchase order and/or gift certificate email. What should I do?

    Emails are sent automatically, so it’s very rare for them not to arrive. Please check your spam and trash folders for emails from Munchmuseet (info@munchmuseet.no).

    If you still can’t find the email, please contact us at medlem@munchmuseet.no.

  • How do I print out a gift certificate PDF from my web browser?

    Open the email containing the link to the gift certificate PDF and click on the link. You can download the PDF document to your computer and print it out as usual. Alternatively you can print out the certificate directly from your web browser. The exact procedure will depend on the type of browser you are using and how its menus are set up. Go into the browser menu  and select “Print”.

  • I’ve bought a membership for someone else, but the welcome email was addressed to me. What has gone wrong?

    Most likely you have not actually bought a “gift” membership, but have created an ordinary membership in another person’s name. As a result, the recipient of your gift is already registered as a member.

    In order to update the membership to the email address of the recipient of the gift, please contact us at medlem@munchmuseet.no.

  • I bought a gift membership, but I activated the membership before I gave the gift certificate to the recipient. What should I do?

    The activation code can only be used once. If you have activated the gift membership, the code cannot be used again. Please contact us at medlem@munchmuseet.no to obtain a new code that you can give to the recipient of your gift.

  • I have received a gift certificate PDF. How do I activate my membership and what happens next?

    Activate your membership and enter your contact details to create an account that you can use to manage your information. Activating your membership is quick and easy.

    • Enter your code where indicated and click on “Proceed”.
    • Enter your details and confirm. 

    You have now created your membership account. You will receive an automated welcome email at your registered email address. This will contain the information you need to log in to your membership account. After registering, you will be logged out of your account automatically after 20 seconds for data security purposes.

  • I’m not sure whether my activation worked. How do I know if it was successful?

    After you have finished entering your details you should receive an automated welcome email at your registered email address. If you can’t find the welcome email, please check your spam and trash folders. If you still can’t find the email, please contact us at medlem@munchmuseet.no.

  • I’ve received a code (TTMXXXXXXXXX) to use when activating my membership. How do I activate my membership?

    You can activate your membership by entering your code here. The code is valid only once.

  • When does a gift membership start?

    A gift membership is valid from the date when the recipient activates it.

  • How long is my membership valid for?

    Your membership is valid for at least one year from the activation date. You can check how long your membership is valid on your membership account. 

  • I haven’t received a welcome email after activating my membership. What should I do?

    You should receive an automated welcome email at your registered email address immediately after you finish creating your membership account. This initial email may go to your spam or trash folder, so please check there for an email from Munchmuseet with the outgoing email address info@munchmuseet.no.

  • I’ve realized that some of the information I entered when creating my account was wrong. How do I change it?

    In your welcome email you will find the information you need to log in to your membership account (your user name which is your email address, and your password). You can manage all personal information except your email address whenever you like by clicking here to log in.

    If you made a mistake when typing in your email address, please contact us by email at medlem@munchmuseet.no.

  • My code doesn’t work and I get a message that it is “invalid“. What should I do?

    Please make sure you entered the right digits.

    Membership card

  • What kind of membership card will I get?

    At the new museum we will have a new system for membership cards. You will receive both a digital and a physical card such that your membership card will always be easily accessible, either on your mobile phone or in your pocket. To enter Munchmuseet at Tøyen, simply give your name in the museum shop. 

  • Why do I need a membership card?

    Your membership card is your proof of membership. You can avoid the ticket queue by scanning your membership card in the same way as an admission ticket. Your membership card is linked to your membership number so that you get the correct discount when shopping with us.

  • Do I need a membership card to visit Munchmuseet at Tøyen?

    As a registered member, you can give your name to the staff in the museum shop, who will give you tickets for you and one guest. The shop staff can give you a temporary card if you want one, but you do not need a card to visit Munchmuseet at Tøyen.

  • When will I get a card for MUNCH at Bjørvika?

    You will receive information about your updated membership card shortly before the new museum opens.
