This summer, we invite visitors to paint their self-portraits, which will be combined into one communal painting. The workshop will take place outside the museum at Tøyen, and is developed by the artist Ahmed Umar, who has also contributed to the current exhibition Call Me By My Name.
The workhop takes places every day till 15. August, at 12, 1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm. Entrance is free, but we encourage you to get your free tickets in advance.
We can all experience alienation and prejudice, or find that we are being “pigeon-holed” in various situations, whether due to ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability or socio-cultural background. We are shaped as people by our experiences and by how other people react to us.
In the project workshop, you will have an opportunity to create a self-representation that you take ownership of and believe in.
