An exciting improvised collaboration between the finest in American and Norwegian jazz.

Jason Moran is one of the leading American jazz pianists of his generation. After a recording debut with Greg Osby on Blue Note in 1997, he has developed a massive discography of his own and a career that ranges from his own Trio to collaborations with jazz masters Cassandra Wilson, Joe Lovano, Don Byron, Charles Lloyd, Steve Coleman, Lee Konitz, Von Freeman, Ravi Coltrane, and Stefon Harris.

He has also composed soundtracks for various movies and documentaries including Selma (2014) and 13th (2016).
This unique concert is an artistic collaboration with Norway’s Trondheim Jazz Orchestra. The ensemble, featuring top improvisors from across the Norwegian scene, has hooked up with many international jazz stars, and this latest project promises a fascinating fusion of American and Nordic jazz sensibilities.

This show is the second of two concerts at this year’s Oslo Jazz Festival – he also appears solo on 17.09.2022
