My Munch: Fredrik Høyer about Evening. Melancholy

Norwegian writer, actor and slam poet Fredrik Høyer tells about his favorite artwork by Edvard Munch, Evening. Melancholi.

Do you have one Munch painting that means something special to you? In the series My Munch you meet people with who have a strong connection to Edvard Munch's art. They tell you about their favourite Munch work, and why it means so much to them.

Fredrik Høyer grew up in the area surrounding Åsgårdstrand, where Edvard Munch had his summerhouse. The scenery in Evening. Melancholy is easily recognisable to Høyer, but that is only one of many  reasons he has a special relationship with this painting.

Something about the motif resonates with my loneliness and brooding.
